SA is a global leader in Macadamia production, followed closely by Australia. In South Africa Macadamia nuts are cultivated in three provinces - Limpopo, Mpumalanga, and KwaZulu-Natal - and the Eastern Cape. The Eastern Cape is a relatively new player in this industry, and Amajinqi Macadamia serves as a shining example of how rural communities can take ownership of this profitable sector. In collaboration with the provincial government, traditional leaders, and local municipalities, the Macadamia industry established the Eastern Cape Macadamia (Pty) Ltd (ECM) aimed at increasing provincial participation in the industry while simultaneously empowering rural communities through the process. Amajingqi has already planted 300 hectares of land with Macadamias. Chief Ngwenyathi Dumalisile of the Amajingqi Traditional Council has expressed his community's commitment to their partnership with ECM, which aligns with their strategic goal of transforming Amajingqi into a self-sufficient and sustainable community. The African Monarch Group is working together with Amajingqi communities in Willowvale, led by Chief Dumalisile, to create investment partnerships that will help expand the project by an additional 300 hectares or more. |

Mbuduma Earn Hub Agripreneurs Training Programme has started its first intake of trainees through a funded programme supported by our esteemed partners at EARN subsidiary African Growth Entrepreneurs (PTY) Ltd and Nedbank South Africa. Initially, the programme was open to individuals from Gauteng and North Cape only, but due to popular demand, MEH requested and our partners agreed to extend the opportunity to the people of Mpumalanga, particularly those from the KwaNdebele area. The African Monarch Group is collaborating with stakeholders to raise funds to develop Mbuduma Earn Hub infrastructure as the project expands to Kameelpoortnek farm in Thembisile Hani Local Municipality. Moreover, efforts are underway to secure additional funding to train other groups of 10-15 young people every 3-6 months, subject to available resources, for the Mbuduma Earn Hub signature Commercial Crop Farming Agripreneur Training Programme. |
