"All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights."
Article 1, Universal Declaration of Human Rights16 days of activism against abuse of women and children, The African Monarch Group ingenuously organized a packaging event in partnership with Rise Against Hunger, Bawredi Network, and Freedom Park. The goal was to end hunger and achieve food security by packing 10,000 meals for early childhood development centers supporting vulnerable children in Johannesburg. In total, 6,480 meals were packed, valued at R434,160.00. This means that one crèche with 41 vulnerable children will be fed three times a day for a year.
Our Sustainable Livelihoods Projects are centered around building sustainable rural communities through agri-processing, which is crucial as the world faces a major challenge of food security. We observe people starving in different parts of the country, across the continent, and globally. It is imperative that our arable lands are utilized and opportunities are created to unlock income-generating activities to address poverty, restore dignity, and overcome grant dependency syndrome. By focusing on developing innovative financing mechanisms such as public-private partnerships, we aim to upgrade and modernize agriculture implements in rural and peri-urban communities.
South African communities desire environmentally friendly solutions that enable them to tackle their socio-economic challenges and related issues. Innovative green financing mechanisms and sustainable energy technologies will help propel partnerships towards stronger value chains in areas such as in-farm mechanization, irrigation, climate-smart agribusiness, food processing technologies, input supply, and agricultural research and development. This will not only contribute to land restoration, job creation, and income generation for communities but also play a vital role in nature conservation in South Africa.
